BY ARTISTS. FOR ARTISTS.
Last night we were able to explore the festivities for Krewe Du Vieux. Magic is in the air and surrounding us. Most of the world knows New Orleans is the place to be for February. We are known as a city thriving with creative arts culture with a history that drives thousands on thousands of people from all over the globe to NOLA. Each and everyday history is made here and it’s up to us to document this lifestyle. This is apart of why portculture exists. This is a window into the Gulf-Coast.
We invite you to join the life we capture.

Happy Friday PORTfamily. Everyday for us is a work day. Everyday we are reaching out to new performers, landing new deals or opportunities for artists, finding new music from the area to share or listen to, and always building/updating our website. Working all season. It’s always important to give time for yourself while you tirelessly work on your craft, so remember that if anything. Never drive yourself too far into insanity.
We’re very thankful of the life we are making. We’re very thankful to have you apart of it. So we appreciate the love from the amount of effort put into keeping this growing. A lot of our readers have been contacting us giving thanks and showing appreciation for what we are trying to do.
What’s on your schedule tonight? Tag us.
Stay tuned for some announcements.
Much love and create something.
This is UNREAL. Thanks for helping us reach well over three thousand views for our site. We’re glad to know we have a consistent audience of nearly four hundred or more views per month. Even this is a number that’s growing. We are in infancy with our site currently. To come this far is remarkable. We want to show love for everyone who is supporting the collective and following our journey. We are very conscious of the impact we have made in less than a year. It’s done through strategy and dedication really.
Giving life to this project has not been easy. Thanks for making it what it is though. This is completely a D.I.Y. cultural movement that’s been thought on for a very long time. Since 2015.
[Our mission is to bring artists to new levels this year allowing for new performances, new crowds, and more opportunity to meet other liked minded creators who are as equally dedicated or as professional in their craft.]
#PORTCULTURE IS YOU.
#PORTCULTURE IS US.
We will be curating a space for grassroots brands and start-ups at a majority of our art gatherings. We want to promote the start of early brands and provide opportunity for networking and commerce. If this is something you, or a friend are building we would love to hear from you.

Sometimes you just have to release some stress and sing along with your homies. Jawuan Ford is peeking and taking the rap world by surprise. We highly suggest you give his music a listen and maybe a follow here and there.

Last night we shared another accomplishment together. Last night we celebrated the second kick-off for The Arts Renaissance – New Talent Tuesday. The Arts Renaissance is a six month collaboration within the arts community of New Orleans and surrounding cities of the third coast that aims to build artistic value with curated performances and art gatherings. We have been planning unique experiences for our friends and family to be apart of that promote the growth of beat makers, hip-hop artists, live bands as well as brands and visual artists.
During the fall of last year we began building a partnership with EIFFEL SOCIETY to cater to the vast emerging arts community and provide an outlet for new fans, friends, and philanthropists to enjoy this experience in a new setting. Our initial model of the program was founded to connect creators to new fans or lovers of this life style in an inclusive and inviting atmosphere.
All of our New Talent events will take place at EIFFEL SOCIETY. The structural masterpiece adorns the street St. Charles right outside of the CBD of New Orleans. The building itself was shipped over from parts of a restaurant that rested atop of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
We have a lot planned in the works for the revival of pure artistic culture. By artists for artists is our foundation. Collaboration is our fuel. PORTCULTURE is a collective that spans the third coast. Our recent progress in New Orleans has built a large list of other creatives who firmly support this initiative in the way we are presenting it as. This has really impacted the structure of our project and we plan to grow with our partners together through out this six month process.
Tweet or tag #portculture on any social media and you are sure to find us.
Thank you for helping the months and years of planning for this come to life.

Hello friends! Really thrilled to be announcing the second #MAGICBOXNOLA art show.
MAGIC BOX is an art show fit to host emerging non traditional visual artists each with their own unique styles. Some of the artists on MAGIC BOX develop work that will leave you deep in thought pondering what cryptic message is actually trying to be relayed. We invite you to take part in uncovering the mystery on January Friday the 13th. Don’t worry, it wouldn’t be too spooky to come out to this on the first Friday the 13th of the new year. A few artists will have some doodles you might consider getting tattooed on you! check it out!
MAGIC BOX 2 will feature pop up shops from local brands and pizza from one of our favorite local spots no other than G’s Pizza of course!
The reception is on Friday the 13th at 6PM sharp.
This event is ALL AGES and FREE.
through the looking glass and into the raw music and arts movement that is #portculture.
we collectively work together to build a tidal wave of creation and culture.
we are here to inspire and create a generation for tomorrow.
Hello friends and portfamily, good morning. We would like to start off sharing our appreciation for everyone taking involvement and interest in our collective project. Thank you for your blessings and encouragement.
Today we are introducing Mike Hazel to the portfamily. Hazel, a Washington DC native, is a young, rich, ambitious, rebel that walks the streets sharing art, spreading the good news of local culture and the mighty DoloWan papers for all your rolling-up needs. Self made and driven, our renegade takes steps in bettering not only his life, but the lives of his artistic friends around him.
We linked up by chance and began to share our story together, and it was magic how the passion matched the drive to succeed and better the world around us through art, creation, and interaction.
It’s our unique vision of this realm that has allowed our paths to cross.
Hazel also has been collaborating with local musicians by helping produce their own batch of rolling papers under the name DoloWan, providing a unique product to any and all who request them.
The artistic entrepreneur says, “At the end of the day the artist uses the ‘canvas’ to reinterpret an impression from the world around them. Some replicate an image to where it can be a mirror image but I’d rather give my customer a bit more than that. I want them to see the freedom that art gives me in everyday life. So I’m not going to always create within the lines but more so feeling based. You will see me break down and distort the world around to show you that everyone’s view of this world is unique.”
His future is as bright as the color of his pallet.
Give his social media links a buzz and check out his Soundcloud for some of his music as well, highly recommended:
